An officer working as a Staff Nurse requested a transfer to the post of First Division Assistant due to medical reasons The government accepted the request with the condition that ... the officer would be placed at the bottom of the seniority list in the new post The officer later challenged the seniority placement seeking to have the seniority counted from the original date of appointment as a Staff Nurse rather than from the date of transfer The matter was first taken to the Tribunal which ruled in favor of the officer The decision was then upheld by the High Court The government dissatisfied with the ruling appealed the decision before the Supreme Court
